Kalaw to Inle Lake Trek

Trekking from Kalaw to Inle Lake 3 Days 2 Nights

 

Day 1

 

Kalaw-Tar Yaw -Ywa Pu (L,D)

After breakfast at the hotel, you will be picked up by the trekking guide and walk to the Palaung (one of the ethnic minorities of Myanmar) village of Tar Yaw Thit Kone (3 hours) through the residential and forested areas around Kalaw. Visit Tar Yaw to see the lifestyle of the Palaung people who are one of the earliest inhabitants of Myanmar and have kept up their traditions such as several families living together in so called ”long houses”. They live on growing different and selling crops such as Orange, Tea leave and Cheroot leave for Burmese cigars. A picnic style lunch will be served on the way. Proceed to Ywa Pu and the surrounding villages through the forested mountains of the region (two and half hours). Traditional style dinner and overnight stay at a local family house or the monastery of the village.

 

Day 2 

 

Ywa Pu-Shar Pin- Hti Thein (B,L,D)

After a simple breakfast, start walking for the village of Shar Pin and Myin Taik and you will enjoy to see the ways of life of Danu people (ethnic minority of the region). Lunch will be served on the way at one of the local family houses. After lunch continue walking to the village of Hti Thein and you will see the beautiful landscape of the region, working people on their vegetables fields. Dinner and over night stay at the monastery of the village.

Day 3

Hti Thein – Nen Yoke – Inn Tein- Inle Lake

 

After breakfast at the monastery, start walking through the hilly and forested area of the region, visit several villages on the way and finally you will reach the village of Indein, located on the western shore of the lake. Here, you will see the beautiful pagoda complex dating back to the 18th to 20th century which are now in ruins. After visiting Indein pagoda you will be transferred to your hotel by boat.

A picnic style lunch will be served on the way. You'll continue to Ywa Pu and the surrounding villages through the forested mountains of the region (about two and half hours). In the evening you'll experience a traditional-style dinner and overnight stay at a local family house or the monastery of the village.

Day 2: Ywa Pu - Shar Pin - Hti Thein

 

After a simple breakfast, you'll start walking toward the village of Shar Pin and Myin Taik where you'll see the ways of life of Danu people (ethnic minority of the region). Lunch will be served on the way at one of the local family houses. After lunch, we'll continue walking to the village of Hti Thein, where you will see the beautiful landscape of the region, and observe people working on their vegetables fields. Dinner and overnight stay at the monastery of the village.

Day 3: Hti Thein - Nen Yoke - Inn Tein - Inle Lake

 

After breakfast at the monastery, we'll begin by walking through the hilly and forested area of the region, visiting several villages on the way.
